Event sets a record for amount of money raised for SouthLight Healthcare’s programs and services
Last month, SouthLight Healthcare had its annual National Recovery Month Luncheon. The event raised more than $40,000 to go toward programs and services for people battling with substance use and addiction in the greater Wake County area. Held at The Carolina Country Club on Wednesday, September 14, 200 guests were in attendance to commemorate National Recovery Month.
The Keynote speaker was Tom McLellan Ph.D., former Drug Czar and CEO of the Treatment Research Institute in Pennsylvania. Dr. McLellan spoke about a variety of factors that impact substance use and addiction, such as the influence of market forces, lack of substance use education for adolescents, and unfair insurance benefits.
The event was a momentous occasion and a big success raising funds for SouthLight Healthcare’s clients.
