About Southlight
We are an organization of professionals dedicated to providing hope, care and direction for people who need to make a positive change in their lives...
SouthLight is a private, non-profit, United Way funded organization whose mission is to:
eliminate addiction, abuse and misuse of drugs,
including alcohol, in the communities we serve
We develop comprehensive substance abuse programs that address the needs of youth, adults and families. Our services include prevention, education, treatment, counseling, housing, HIV/STD outreach, and court intervention.
SouthLight is licensed by the state of North Carolina and accredited by CARF (The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). Many of SouthLight's services are covered in part by Medicaid and other major insurance carriers. In addition, as a private, non-profit care provider, we receive some funding which allows us to provide quality care for those who cannot afford to pay full-fee. SouthLight is a Triangle United Way Agency of Excellence.
History...
SouthLight has a 40-year history of providing Wake County with substance abuse services. SouthLight was incorporated on May 4, 1970.
SouthLight has continued to develop programs that address the needs within all communities as they struggle with the disease of addiction and its destruction of health, relationships, careers/finances, decision-making abilities, and emotional functioning. Our outreach places a particular emphasis on seeking out minority populations, including African Americans and the growing Wake County Latino population.
