
Co-Occuring Disorders Treatment
We serve many clients who have more than one condition (substance abuse and mental health disorders); it is important to target all of their needs. SouthLight has psychiatrists on staff to assist clients with simultaneous outpatient treatment of substance abuse and mental health disorders. This service is offered to both adolescents and adults.
Community Support Team
The Community Support Team (CST) is an intensive community rehabilitation service that provides treatment and restorative interventions to: assist individuals in gaining access to necessary services; reduce symptoms of addiction and mental illness; and develop optimal community living skills.
Co-Occurring Disorders Program
This is an intensive outpatient treatment program for individuals with substance dependence and severe mental health disorders. Eligible individuals will participate in a three hour group session three times per week for 12 weeks. Groups will be limited to 12 persons and will include opportunities for discussion as well as educational topics related to managing addictions and co-occurring mental illness. The IOP group facilitators will draw from evidence-based theoretical approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT is an outpatient treatment program for individuals 18 years or older who have been diagnosed with Substance Abuse and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). These individual experience chronic symptoms of:
· Unstable, intense relationships
· Intense and uncontrollable anger/frequent change in moods
· Impulsivity in at least two of these areas: substance abuse, binge eating, reckless driving, spending, sex
· Recurrent suicidal behavior and/or cutting or burning
This evidence-based program consist of one, two hour skills building group sessions and one, one hour individual psychotherapy session per week. It is a six month program with an additional six months strongly encouraged. Facilitators are extensively trained in Marsha Linehan’s model of DBT.
