SouthLight operates a Medically Assisted Treatment Programs for narcotic addicts. Methadone is used as replacement medication for opioids. SouthLight started the Raleigh program over 30 years ago and it continues to expand. Law-enforcement values the methadone program as an effective strategy to reduce crime. It also reduces the spread of HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.
