SouthLight a Standout in Customer Service with Behavioral Health Network

02/02/2021

Intake Coordinator JoAnn Johnson Committed to Excellent Service

If you call SouthLight Healthcare to make a referral or ask a question, it’s likely the first person you will talk to is JoAnn Johnson. She’s on our front line responding to calls and working behind the scenes to schedule assessments and connect people to services.

JoAnn was recently recognized by the Network for Advancing Behavioral Health (NABH) leadership as a standout among all the network partners for her outstanding work and customer service.

SouthLight is a founding member of NABH, which is a community network of behavioral health and substance use providers and WakeMed. The NABH works to better connect patients at WakeMed with substance use and behavioral health concerns with outpatient service providers like SouthLight.

JoAnn is committed to taking care of our callers–sometimes receiving up to 50 calls a day–and ensuring referrals are smooth, timely and appropriate.

“We’re not here to judge; we’re here to help,” says JoAnn, who has worked as our Intake Coordinator with SouthLight for four years. She says one of the most frequent questions she gets is how to make a referral. The quickest way is simply call 919-787-6131. There is also a Referral Form on our website.

What does JoAnn love most about her job? “Letting clients know that we’re here to help them. We’re willing to meet them where they are.” We are fortunate to have customer-focused employees like JoAnn representing SouthLight in the community.
