SouthLight Recovery Month Celebration Connects Clients to Community Resources
10/03/2023
ANNUAL EVENT ATTRACTS MORE THAN 400 CLIENTS, STAFF AND PARTNERS
On September 28, 2023, SouthLight Healthcare held an event during National Recovery Month to connect community resources and services with more than 400 clients who receive substance use and mental health services.
The community showed up in a big way to connect our clients with essential services and supplies. More than 15 community partners provided food, FLU vaccines, job resources, clothing, toiletries, cell phones, harm reduction supplies, pharmacy services and more. A local artist, Tyler Jones, worked with clients and staff on a collaborative art project to create artwork that will hang in our renovated outpatient treatment center.
Thank you to our sponsor AmeriHealth Caritas for supporting our event and bringing their Mobile Wellness and Opportunity Unit. We are especially grateful to these donors: Ship Community Outreach for providing 500 loaves of bread and hot dog buns; White Memorial Presbyterian Church for providing 500 bottles of water; InterFaith Food Shuttle for providing 200 jars of peanut butter; Place at the Table for providing 500 cookies; and Bombas for providing a new pair of socks for every client.
Our Opioid Treatment Team grilled more than 600 hot dogs, and SouthLight employees were on hand to assist with Peer Support, Medicaid, disability applications, Tailored Care Management and more. Special thanks to the Raleigh ACORNS team for attending our event and the Wake County Recovery Court District Judge and staff.
