SouthLight Renovation to Increase Capacity, Expand Access to Care

04/17/2024

One of the goals of our $3.5 million renovation of our Outpatient Treatment Center in Southeast Raleigh is that our facilities reflect the quality of the services we provide.

“The renovation of our 18,360 sq. ft. building will transform our center into a modern client-centered behavioral health facility.”

—Adam Hartzell, SouthLight’s CEO

SouthLight’s “community hub” located on Garner Road in Southeast Raleigh serves about 700 people every day. Clients come for in-person services including individual and group counseling, opioid treatment, medication management, peer support services, and more.

SouthLight Renovations: Phase One Now Complete

We recently completed the first phase of the renovation and opened our doors to new group counseling rooms and staffing areas. SouthLight’s new group rooms offer state-of-the-art technology and large, mix use opportunities for our intensive outpatient support groups and client orientations.

Our new dedicated staff area creates a private and quiet space for SouthLight’s staff members to focus on tasks, collaborate with other team members, or enjoy lunch or a cup of coffee.

“I’ve heard clients share that the space is nice and welcoming. I think it will be a space in which clients can relax and find rest. I’m looking forward to getting used to the technology so we can share different types of media. Having a consistent space will eliminate a lot of anxiety clients have about joining Intensive Outpatient Counseling (IOP). Knowing where they’ll be each group, without the worry of finding group in different suites, will be helpful.”

Creating a Hub for Substance Use & Mental Health Clients

We are on our way to creating a Community Hub that will best serve our clients as part of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model.

Transforming SouthLight’s outpatient treatment center into an innovative, client-centered facility will have a huge return on investment. To date, we have raised $2.9 million of our $3.5 million goal. The Capital Campaign continues to attract broad support from the community.
