Tod Carver

Tod Carver, MSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate as well as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate, practicing in Raleigh, NC.  Tod graduated from North Carolina State University, with both graduate and undergraduate degrees in Social Work.  While working towards his graduate degree Tod was chosen as a HRSA Behavioral Health scholar and received additional in-depth training on working with persons with or at risk of behavioral health issues.

Tod is continuously seeking to gain new skills and broaden his education.  He is trained for and currently practices Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), he is also trained and uses the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) modalities in his therapeutic sessions.  He is currently looking to add EMDR therapy education to his toolbox.  Rather than adopting one methodology for all individuals and issues, Tod draws from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual and situation.

Tod believes that change happens when people are given the guidance they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling happy lives. He provides an environment of compassion and support to help individuals overcome obstacles to move forward and thrive. Tod says of himself, “I am warm, open, encouraging, and direct. I consider myself an active therapist, combining experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to counseling”.
