SouthLight has 4 office locations throughout Wake County. We serve clients in Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston and Wilson counties.

+ What services can I receive at SouthLight Healthcare?

For 50 years SouthLight has offered a safe and supportive treatment environment where individuals in crisis can receive comprehensive care, offered with compassion and respect. + Is SouthLight Healthcare a nonprofit agency?

Yes, SouthLight is a non-profit with 501(c)(3) status. Our tax ID number is 56-0988422. For more information on our non-profit status please call our Development Office at 919-787-6131 ext. 1113.

+ How do I become a SouthLight client?

If you are seeking services and are without insurance, have Medicaid, have Medicare with Secondary Medicaid or are interested in learning more about our programs please call our Intake Coordinator at 919-787-6131 or fill out our Contact Form.

Intakes typically take 20-30 minutes.

+ How soon can I get an appointment?

Our appointment availability varies by location and service you are seeking. Depending on insurance and availability, our new client assessments have a 2-3 week wait time. We will do our best to schedule you for our first available appointment and are more than happy to place you on a cancellation list.

To schedule an appointment, please call our Intake Coordinator at 919-787-6131 between 8 am and 2 pm. Intakes for new clients typically take 20-30 minutes.

+ How do I provide feedback about my experience at SouthLight?

Please fill out our complaint form. The purpose of this form is to allow our clients and/or staff the space to confidentially share ideas regarding experiences at SouthLight.

+ How can I pay for services at SouthLight?

Payment is taken in the form of cash, check, or credit card and depends on the service the client is receiving. Typically payments are taken by front desk staff at the time services are rendered.

Court Services clients have the option of paying online via PayPal on this page. 

Clients with commercial insurance can make online payments here.

+ Do you have a reduced fee payment option?

Yes. For individuals who do not have an insurance plan (i.e. a plan listed above or Medicaid), you may qualify to pay a percentage of the cost. During your initial intake, we will ask a series of questions to determine if you qualify. 

SouthLight Healthcare provides all services regardless of a client’s ability to pay. If a client is not able to pay the applicable sliding fee scale rate at time of visit, they will be asked to pay any amount they can. All clients will be served whether or not they can pay the applicable fee.

+ Which health insurance plans to you accept?

+ What if I have trouble paying for my treatment?

If you are having trouble paying for services provided by SouthLight, please contact our Billing Department at 919-787-6131 ext 1501.

+ How can I access a copy of my medical record?

SouthLight is happy to provide you with a copy of your medical record during our hours of operation, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. To request a copy of your medical record, visit our Medical Records Request Page or call the Medical Records Department at 919-787-6131 x1328.

+ Does SouthLight Healthcare offer housing?

We provide limited housing in two special programs for clients in treatment. Learn more about our Women and Children’s Residential Treatment Program here, where you’ll find an application. Learn about our Housing and Outpatient Treatment Program (HOT) here.
