+ What services can I receive at SouthLight Healthcare?

For 50 years SouthLight has offered a safe and supportive treatment environment where individuals in crisis can receive comprehensive care, offered with compassion and respect. + Is SouthLight Healthcare a nonprofit agency?

Yes, SouthLight is a non-profit with 501(c)(3) status. Our tax ID number is 56-0988422. For more information on our non-profit status please call our Development Office at 919-787-6131 ext. 1113.

+ How do I become a patient?

If you are seeking services and are without insurance, have Medicaid, have Medicare with Secondary Medicaid or are interested in learning more about our programs please call our Intake Coordinator at 919-787-6131 x 1135 or fill out our New Patient Referral Form.

For patients who have Commercial Insurance, please contact 984-200-5697 or fill out our New Patient Referral Form to access services at our Barrett Drive location.

Intakes typically take 20-30 minutes.

+ How soon can I get an appointment?

Our appointment availability varies by location and service you are seeking. Depending on insurance and availability, our new patient assessments have a 2-3 week wait time. We will do our best to schedule you for our first available appointment and are more than happy to place you on a cancellation list.

To schedule an appointment, please call our Intake Coordinator at 919-787-6131 ext. 1135 between 8 am and 2 pm. Intakes for new clients typically take 20-30 minutes.

+ How can I pay for services at SouthLight?

Payment is taken in the form of cash, check, or credit card and depends on the service the client is receiving. Typically payments are taken by front desk staff at the time services are rendered. During COVID-19 clients are able to go to our Garner Road location to make payments, or they can call to make a credit card payment. Court Services clients have the option of paying online via PayPal on this page. 

Patients at our Barrett Drive office can make online payments here. This is for clients with commercial insurance.

+ Do you have a sliding fee scale?

Yes—our sliding fee scale is a percentage determined by household income and size. You can learn more during your initial phone assessment.

+ What if I have trouble paying for my treatment?

If you are having trouble paying for services provided by SouthLight Healthcare, please contact our Billing Department at 919-787-6131 ext 1501  to discuss our sliding fee scale, payment plans or to be re-evaluated for IPRS funding if you did not initially meet requirements.

+ How can I access a copy of my medical record?

SouthLight is happy to provide you with a copy of your medical record during our hours of operation, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

To request a copy of your medical record, please call ur Medical Records Department at 919-787-6131 x1119.

DURING COVID-19, we have set up a temporary eFax account. Please use this number for sending and receiving medical records during this crisis. Temporary eFax number: 1-888-890-6295.

+ Does SouthLight Healthcare offer housing?

We provide limited housing in two special programs for clients in treatment. Learn more about our Women and Children’s Residential Treatment Program here, where you’ll find an application. Learn about our Housing and Outpatient Treatment Program (HOT) here.
